This tunnel was part of my walk to and from school for five years. I always enjoyed the clean, straight lines of the bridge above – a construction atypically industrial and so quite out of place in the leafy neighbourhood it is in (note the trees outside). Whilst my loss of visual acuity has stolen those clean lines from me, it has given a new significance to this “eyesore” (in the words of most locals): the beauty I once saw is still there, I just see it differently now.
